Amazing you - Global Design Project #069 Colour Challenge

hello all

and hope you've  had a lovely week -

You know when you have an occasion to congratulate someone, tell them you are thinking of them, perhaps someone needs a bit of a bolstering up or encouragement, is perhaps not feeling too well  - well of course as a Stampin' Up demonstrator what better way to say it than with a card.... !

and this week  I opted to take up the current challenge over at the Global Design project site
where for no. #69, we have a Colour Challenge and so used this as inspiration to get me thinking.

yep - we had Delightful Dijon, silver and a colour of your choice., to play with.!

Now hands  up - who numbers Delightful Dijon as one of their favourite, go to colours.?

Well I for one,  must admit to being very colour challenged with this  - so had a real tussle on my hands,  but finally decided to pair it with, of all things,  Mint Macaron and was really pleased how it turned out..  and I did indeed make a card!

I used the lovely Shimmery white card stock for my topper- as this takes water colouring beautifully. I divided the card into 3rds and with a bit of masking/sponging, stamping, aqua-painting later - finally  came up with this.

Originally  i just had the 'Amazing You' as the only sentiment and although I had it popped up on Stampin' dimesionals still  thought it needed something more - so added 'Celebrate...' as an after thought but think it works.

what do you all think? Hopefully the recipient liked it and felt a bit more like her old self.!

Spring/summer Catalogue launch

hello all

have been sitting on these for what seems like weeks - well being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator means we get to play with lovely new product items before they go on sale  but today means the wait is over as I am now able  to finally share with you the new seasonal catalogue with all its exciting product suites and go together sets.

Even the front page is awe-inspiring with its blues and green colourways /suggestions for assembling the 'Vertical Garden' Kit - just one of the items in the Succulent Garden suite

As I see it - it is  how to get green fingered but with no potting compost involved or the need to be out of doors ! a definite plus in my book - interested ?

You have everything  to choose from in the new catalogue,  from Birthdays, to Valentines, Babies to Anniversaries, Easter to Holiday moments, Thank yous to Celebrations, the great outdoors  and  gardens,  Father's day, Mothers day, Wedding day and  everything else in between.

for example - the fabulous  Cupcakes & Carousels Suite :

Just a glorious set of items which for me perfectly sum up a taste of a vintage summer holidays spent at the beach where rides on the Ferris wheel and Carousel were all part of a sun filled day.. Beautifully matched embellishments, paper packs, card stock, stamps and dies all help to bring back such lovely childhood memories!

... and as always with Stampin' Up! everything is geared up to complete product suites where stamp sets, designer series papers, embellishments, dies and framelits all  help you , safe in the knowledge that items in the same suite will all co-ordinate, all complement and all go together perfectly.

..and of course not forgetting the scrapbookers amongst us - Project Life have brought us another fabulous accessory Pack with their 'Celebrate every Day' set .

and continuing with their ever popular Project Kits - How about the 'Birthday Bright' set.  As always there is a suggested additional 'Birthday Bright' stamp set  which perfectly supplements the project kit.

And you even get a cute storage box to go with - how nice is that !

and with lots of 'You can Make it' samples,  show pieced throughout the catalogue you are never short of inspiration either.

and of course with Christmas and New year just behind us - what are the shops now filled with ? Valentines day cards and gifts.. and of course Stampin' Up! are already there for us.

Lots of ideas and samples using their 'Sending Love' suite of items - a fabulous go to set based round the traditional Red and White you always think of for a Valentine heart - however big or small  - either in size, or number!  Take a look at this beautiful stack of papers.

a generous pack of 48 sheets of  6" x 6" papers - all very much red and white!

they have thought of it all with great card and gift ideas to make, send, or just to share.. and of course you cannot go wrong with 'Real Red' card stock - that just has to be the basis of anything 'Valentine' in my view

 - and whether its one heart or a set in a row.?  Little love notes to really tactile wood heart shaped embellishments - I think Stampin' Up! truly have thought of everything for us!

another little taster here maybe ?

well,  will finish my quick dip in to the new catalogue with perhaps my most favourite set of all

a stunning set of stamps to celebrate you, me, us!

It's called 'Beautiful You' and its a set of stylish,  lovingly,  artist drawn stamps,  that just go so so well with the  phrased sentiments in the set.

and to get your creative juices flowing - how about these for a few samples in use

well will close  here - copies should already be in the post to my lovely customers - but if you haven't received yours and would like one - just click the link on the side bar to the right and will get one off to you in the post.

til next time and
happy choosing

Hey Chick sneaky peeks...

hi all

just a quick hello and hoping all your New year celebrations went off in good style.

The jury is still out in our house as to the quality of the television programs spanning the count down but have to say we all loved the fireworks though!

...but am back to day having had a little play with a couple of sets due for imminent launch, and on their own countdown as it were,  all kicking off on January 4th.

yes - its the launch of both the new seasonal Spring Summer 2017 Catalogue -a lovely collection of on trend/ and topical designs along with the start of this year's Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Campaign,  and that means for every £45 spent you get to choose an item for free from the special Sale-a-Bration brochure.

and for my card I used items from both to make a little thank you card for a friend. and thanks to the lovely Kelly Acheson whose design I cased virtually wholesale,  to come up with this - thanks so much Kelly!

am sorry they have come out so dark but today's light here is not very good at all...

My card base is Sweet Sugarplum, one of the current 2016 - 2018 In Colours teamed with a piece of slant-wise cut , Very Vanilla Topper.

I used the really fun set 'Hey Chick' from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue which will make you chuckle as soon as you see it, and teamed it with the 'Friend' sentiment from the aptly named 'Suite Sentiment' stamp set from the seasonal catalogue.

You can really go to town on colouring as much or as little as you like - I just chose to highlight the hair and tails with a few random strokes of Sweet Sugarplum and Melon Mambo and a dash of Tangerine Tango for the beaks and feet....

I finished this off with a 'Crumb Cake' grounding and a few toning '2016 - 2018 In-Colour' enamel shapes.

Hope she likes it.

well I will be back soon with links to the new brochures - so am on my count down already!

bye for now and get those stamps inked in readiness!

Happy 2017 everyone

hello all

well it's almost time to say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 so just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks so much to all my lovely customers and colleagues who have supported my business in 2016.

it really is greatly appreciated. and although have not posted at all much in the last couple of months - have been wearing my other hat and have been welded to my sewing machine sewing up a storm to make a birth quilt for my latest great-niece - born at the beginning of December  - so had a bit of a rush on my hands to ensure it was finished for Christmas..  but it was... scroll down to see what I got up to.

but just had time to make a New Year card and just now posting this as the clock ticks away - what are we going to do though without Big Ben to 'chime us in' ?

hopefully they have thought of something suitable !

so here it is - my last card for 2016 and am going to link it up with Inkspirational Challenge #125 where they have a truly wonderful festive photo to help get us creating..

All glitter and gold and  stylish black, atop a base of shimmery white cardstock!..

Well,  the New Spring Summer Catalogue launch and the Sale-a-Bration campaign both get underway on the 4th January and will be posting out copies of both of these brochures  on the 2nd, just in time.

so with that - and whatever you get up to this evening - either at home or visiting elsewhere,  hope everyone has a lovely time and safe travels afterwards  - and will close with my very best wishes for a great 2017 for everyone

til next time
